Relationship Review #1: Stelena (Stefan and Elena)


Stelena was so beautiful and soul soothing while it lasted. It was one of the epic romances the TV history has ever seen. It was so simple and elegant. Their one glance or a touch was enough to make the audience fall in love all over again. All of their moments were so picturesque. Whenever I watch them I find myself hitting rewind again and again and again. Ignoring the whole Damon angle, they were a perfect couple. That was what I would call true love. 



They were soul mates. They shared a beautiful bond, a companionate love. That’s why it didn’t make any sense when Elena encouraged Damon’s advances, when she chose him. It was hard to believe that she would fall for someone like Damon after she got to know Stefan, a creepy guy like Damon could actually break their bond.  If I find someone like Stefan, I would hold onto him forever, never let him go.



Stefan came into Elena’s life, they fell in love. They had a lot in common, both were lonely, compassionate, loving the people in their lives to the core, the habit of writing diary to deal with the loneliness. As I watched them loving each other I fell in love with them too.  Thought it is a pretty bold move for a TV show to get its lead characters together in the first few episodes itself. Little did I know!

Stelena was and always will be my choice. Always thought Damon is there to provide enough drama to keep the audience intrigued. Felt like cheated when I came to know that Delena was actually the endgame. I don’t approve!!



Stefan is actually a really good character. Kind, understanding, has good moral sense and always let Elena make her on decisions. I have to say, saving Matt instead of Elena was a little bit extreme, he should have saved her despite her protest, because sometimes when it comes to the people we love, we have to choose what is best for them, not what they ask for. Other than that and the bridge incident he was as good as anyone can be. It’s true that sometimes he goes into the ripper mode but that is not really his fault. Even when he left with Klause, he had no choice there. 


They really understand each other, never ever give up on each other. Even if one of them hit the rock bottom and pushed the other away, they hold on to each other. Stefan always knew when Katherine tried to impersonate Elena, no matter how similar they looked like, he always knew when it was not Elena. Same can't be said about Damon. Katherine was always able to fool Damon, if she wanted. Because Damon's love for Elena was rooted from his love and fixation for Katherine. Stefan was even able to resist compulsion for Elena. Even Klaus said the only thing stronger than his craving for blood is his love for Elena. Honestly, what more a girl can ask for?

Conclusion:

The best thing about Stelena is Stefan. He loves unconditionally and gives everything for love. Such people don't walk in to your life everyday. He is one of a kind. Remember what he said in the beginning? He came to mystic falls to be start a new life, to be a new person, to have a normal life, to love someone and to be loved by someone. Ultimately he gave himself for love. But the person he chose to love was wrong. Elena was wrong in so many ways. But if you ignore the whole Damon angle and isolate Stelena as a couple, Stelena was perfect. When comparing Stelena with Delena, I like Stelena more. But from the moment she chose Damon, I never wanted Stelena to be back. Stefan deserved someone much better than Elena. Even though he didn't get a happy ending at the end of the series, in my mind he will live happily ever after. After all Good people deserve happiness!

At first  Stefan Salvatore reminded me of Edward Cullen. After a few episodes I got over it. Stefan Salvatore is a kind-hearted good hero material. I didn’t particularly like him first but then slowly grew fond of him. He loves his brother Damon Salvatore more than anything. No matter what Damon did he always forgives him, may be because of the guilt that Stefan was the one who turned Damon into a vampire even against his will. Character Review #3 : Damon Salvatore

I like Damon Salvatore as the character of a story, but as a person not so much. He is interesting. A villainous character with good buried deep inside. He cares for his brother but doesn’t show it outside. Sometimes he does terrible things because others don’t have to. But sometimes he does that for fun or because he is upset. He is sarcastic and has got amazing one-lines. He is someone who loves deeply, after all he spent 145 years trying to find a way to release the woman he loved from the curse. He blames Stefan for turning him into a vampire and for their history with Katherine but forgives him ultimately. He is also heartless and cruel and ruthless. He kills people without thinking twice just because he thinks it’s fun. He abuses his mind controlling abilities to make school girls as his toys.
